Thanks to our members who have shared their success stories with us. Our goal is to make a difference in lives and the community. We love to hear about each time we've met that goal. 

It has been said that the greatest investment you can make is your health. At OHAC, the investment pays you back in many ways. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted by Will at the front desk with a smile and a sense of humor that gets you off on the right step. Cindy and Zack who manage the club are always visible and ensuring that the Cleaning Crew is keeping everything clean and equipment is in working order. Cindy is always open to suggestions and constantly making improvements to the club.

The floor space is well organized with areas that you can tuck yourself away and go at it like it was your own personal gym or join into group sessions and be part of something more. There’s never an excuse to be bored due to the variety of equipment and unlimited options of how to use it. Feeling uninspired? Dragging yourself there? Not for long, you make friends who are there with you, ready to encourage you along or commiserate with you. Egos simply don’t exist…it’s a place for everyone to go and improve themselves without judgement and you always walk out the door feeling better than when you walked in the door.

Need help getting started on your journey? I have been taking advantage of the Personal Training offered by the club with trainer Carlton Duhamel for more than two years.  At first my goal was just to make it to the gym 3-4 days a week. That goal didn’t last long. It quickly evolved to being there 6 or more times per week and an average of 90 minutes at each visit.  It has become my happy place where the time spent is “My Time.” Carlton has changed my life and my mindset about working out. At age 55 I am now crazy strong and more fit than when I was half that age. I firmly believe that Carlton is invested in my journey and together we continue to set new goals and make progress every day.  He has a great sense of humor and deploys it to make working out fun.  His vast knowledge and experience is invaluable, and he will never sacrifice proper form or put you in jeopardy.  I can assure you that he has ways of working every muscle and it will never be the same work out twice.  I trust him completely and know without a doubt that I will continue to work with him for years to come.

I first joined OHAC at the urging of my doctors. I was struggling with depression and social anxiety and found it difficult to step out of the house, let alone join a health club where I was certain everyone looked like they should be models. I, on the other hand, have struggled with obesity all of my life. I finally got up the courage to come and take a look at the club. I saw people of all ages, shapes and sizes, young and old, men and women. I made the decision to join and decided pool exercises were the way to go. 


I still had a fear of socializing and spent my first weeks walking the lap lanes in the early morning when I felt fewer people would be there. One morning a woman approached me and struck up a conversation. She talked about how much fun the water aerobics classes were and encouraged me to stay that day and try the class. I did, and it was the beginning of a whole new life for me.  My depression is in check, and the social anxiety is also in control.  I have made many friends who encourage and support me. I take the aerobics classes 5 days a week. I feel physically and mentally stronger, and in the past year and a half I have lost 117 pounds. It's never to late to turn your life around. Thank you to the friendly staff at Orchard Hills and to the many friends I have made who encourage and support me.

We have been members at Orchard Hills for a little over 2 years now. As a large family of 6, cost was a consideration when we first discussed joining. However, we could not be happier about our experience to this point. It has truly been a family investment that has paid incredible dividends in every way possible. The equipment is of the highest quality, variety and cleanliness. The group classes are extremely effective and lots of fun at the same time. I could rave all day about the staff and instructors! So helpful and kind.


My 4 kiddos LOVE the child watch rooms - my girls have fun in the older kid room with their video games, air hockey table and other fun activities and my boys are always entertained with all the toys and art activities in the younger kids room. The childcare staff is SO great with all the kids, especially my youngest who has special needs. This summer has been especially enjoyable. The kids and I pack a lunch, they hang in the child watch rooms for an hour while I work out and then we all head to the amazing outdoor pool to 

swim and have lunch. The pool is huge and they have an amazing water-park style water slide that the kids (and I)



Joining this health club has been life changing. I am a work from home mom to four and the hour each day to myself is crucial - not only for my physical health but especially for my mental health.

Orchard Hills has enabled me to make great friends with the same healthy goals as myself. At this point I have lost 55+ pounds in a year's time! The variety of options in cardio + weight machines, free weights, TRX, an indoor track, pool + whirlpool, aerobic/swim classes + an occasional spin class are all great options for me! This experience has made me a stronger person willing to try even more options. All these choices, consistency + diet have aided in changes that I hope I can maintain for a lifetime!

First, I want to emphasize the atmosphere at OHAC and the staff that's responsible. It is noticeably pleasant, clean (the building), clever (the staff), efficient, funny, helpful, always friendly and quite helpful at OHAC. It's been that way over the 8 years I've been a member. I can't emphasize that enough.


I have no insight into weight gain or loss. I went from 343 lbs to 146 lbs (about 1 1/2 years), and have stayed there only because I kept going to OHAC to swim. I always really loved the water, but when you are that large, you don't wear a bathing suit. About 11 years ago, I was in a canoe with my husband and granddaughter and ended up in the water. I immediately remembered the pleasant feeling. I went to my doctor and he suggested aquatic therapy.


It's a rare feeling to know how healthy I am at this age (I also have to thank my father for the athletics too), and to be able to move so smoothly. Because of the good fit with OHAC, I tend to feel it wouldn't be this great. Come to OHAC with a good attitude and you've got it made.

P.S. I've had arthritis in my knees for 42 years. The last time I called my doctor to have my knees shot up, the receptionist said, "you haven't been here for 2 years." I have no trouble with my knees and take nothing for them.
